Prosthetic rehabilitation can assist with a huge variety of cases large and small, all of which can enhance the quality of life for the patient.
Due to the intensely personal nature of our work, images of it are not usually publicly available, however some of our patients have kindly agreed to the use of the pictures shown here for which we are very grateful.
The following examples give some indication of the breadth of work we are able to do:
Case Study 1
Situation:
Patient suffered from a congenital deformity which affected the muscle in her right buttock area.
Solution:
A prosthetic piece was created to perfectly fit the patient’s buttock area.
Case Study 2
Situation:
Patient suffered from a severe orbital defect.
Solution:
An adhesive retained prosthesis was replaced with branemark implants placed around the supra orbital area, with magnet retention for the hand crafted acrylic eye, restoring a balanced appearance to the patient’s face.
Case Study 3
Situation:
Patient suffered from trauma injury to the right hand casing absence of the little finger.
Solution:
A prosthetic finger for everyday wear was created to replace the missing digit.

Case Study 4
Situation:
Patient suffered traumatic loss of his left orbit in an industrial accident.
Solution:
An adhesive retained, gel-filled orbital prosthesis was made. Gel-filled pieces feel more comfortable and soft and the patient has commented that he does not know it's there. Due to its softness it feels more lifelike and moves with the skin when he smiles or screws up his face. The patient also wears tinted glasses to allow for any colour imbalance.
Case Study 5
Situation:
Patient suffered loss of the soft tissue of her lower leg shin area due to traumatic injury (dog attack).
Solution:
A gel-filled leg contour prosthetic was made which is held in place by her tights
Case Study 6
Situation:
Patient suffered congenital loss of her right ear.
Solution:
Oessiointegrated Titanium Implants were fitted (seen being tightened in picture one). Her prosthesis is now held in place by gold clips that attach to the gold bar. This method of retaining a prosthesis gives excellent retention and most patients find it easy to cope with.
Case Study 7
Situation:
Patient had a tumour removed, resulting in the exenteration (removal of eye and surrounding eyelids and tissue) of her eye.
Solution:
A gel filled orbital prosthesis was made, which stays in place by the
use of the undercuts in her resulting socket.
Case Study 8
Situation:
Patient was involved in a Road Traffic Accident and suffered traumatic loss of his ring and middle finger of his left hand.
Solution:
Being deeply concerned by the appearance of his hand the patient opted for vacuum retained finger prostheses. He is most delighted with the results.
